If I were the producers, I would answer many of these questions....next season while at the same time pose new ones for season 3.
The questions would be answered via flashback.

I've been watching the series from ep 1 again and there's one really interesting question that hasn't been touched on since.
Did the people in the tail section survive elsewhere? (The old black woman says she knows her husband is still alive)
Too many questions...lets hope they give us some closure by the season end (but not too much so we can get a decent series 2...)
