1/2 Man, 1/2 Amazing
some of it is companies trying to "protect their interests", laugh.
and some of it is stupid assholes thinking they are funny.
Thank goodness for verfieds, vcdquality, and dcc search engines, the best way to get legit shit.

if you want a movie that has just been released, or a screener, you should check out vcdquality.com. they usually have a list of the latest releases etc.
the guy who reckons he has a dvd rip of a movie that hasnt even been screened yet is probably a lying shit.
the best method is to wait untill that file has 10-12 users or more, hit the cross by the side of it and check all the file names, both front and back, this can sometimes show a different file name, and therefore prove that the title is fake.
as far as fakes are concerned, ive come up with these over the weekend.
james bond night fire (about 716mb)
and splinter cell (same size), are in fact, rambo first blood.avi (you have to re-name to .avi)
phone booth is: im just a cheerleader
if the file doesnt play and you have the right codecs its obviously not an avi file, try re-naming them to all the most common file types (.zip, .iso, .rar etc.)
if that still doesnt help, chuck the entire file into a hex editor and see what that comes up with.
these wankers are just trying to be popular for the moment by re-naming files. but hey, the more they do that, the more they will screw themselves in the long run.
cheers

Ya know, of lotta those wankers are regular Kazaa users (read, "dumbasses") who are spoofing their files because they either think they, or really do, have, well, CRAP that noone wants, and they gotta keep that participation level up...!

And hey, I forgot to mention that GSpot (included w/ K-Lite now, I think, but there'z a link on this site) will look at any video file and tell you all sorts a' interesting stuff, like the video and audio codecs used, and whole lots more. And it doesn't require an install! (Teeny, too)
