    hi ,
    i wanna buy a dvd writer (from us to india)i have my friend to get itfrom us, but wanna know which one is best for me, and does it work in india?please, all of your help is appreciated,thanks in advance

    goto www.newegg.com and find one that u like and tell ur friend to buy it but i dont knoe if it will work in india

    There is a good dual layer one that can burn +/- for 70$. I think it is NEC, and burns at 24x, or 16x i cant remember.

    whatever u do dont get the sony 16x dvd burner got bad reviews....

    for once sony messes up

    Cant see why not although youll a need a chip ps2 and Ide suggest using Alcohol 120% although cant say for certain...

    If you don't want to chip your ps2 you will probaby need a burner that can copy EFM errors introduced by Safe Disc copy protection.

    This site (sorry, it is in italian) has a list of drives which can/can't do what you want. Find the drive you are interested in then look at the EFM column. I believe you need at least 2 sheep to beat Safe Disc.
