    I just came back from Tesco's and decided to drink the YOP drink that I purchased there.

    For anyone who doesn't know, it's a yoghurt drink that comes in loads of flavours.

    Anyway... looking at the bottle, I start to read:

    * source of calcium
    * low in fat
    * no preservatives
    * with live cultures
    * suitable for vegetarians
    * no artificial sweeteners

    but what the hell is "with live cultures"???

    Found the answer:

    How YOP is made:

    Fresh milk is delivered daily straight from the farm.
    The milk is heated to 95 degree c and held at this temperature, we call this pasteurisation. It kills any harmful bacteria that may be in the milk.
    The milk is then cooled down to 40 degree c and placed in incubation tanks.
    The friendly bacteria is now added and left to multiply. The bacteria converts the naturally occurring lactose in the milk into lactic acid.
    The lactic acid reacts with the milk proteins in the milk to form the yogurt drink texture.
    This process takes about 8 hours to complete.
    The quality control personnel know the yogurt drink is ready when the PH reaches the desired level.
    The yogurt drink is then cooled to prevent the bacteria from growing anymore and is now ready to mix in different flavours and pack.

    Health benefits

    Yogurt drink is a good source of calcium that’s needed in the diet for strong healthy teeth and bones.
    Yop contains live cultures, these are friendly bacteria which encourages the good bacteria to multiply in the gut.
    These bacteria help to digest food and protect against harmful bugs that can cause stomach upsets.
    Yop is low in fat.

    Darthy's got it.

    Also it's good if you have a yeast infection that you want cured. Well, it is if you're a female with thrush, anyway
