    The most important factor here is...what version are you using? If you're not using the latest (5.07), I suggest you upgrade, uninstall your old version and try that first. If you already have the latest version, uninstall it and clean up the registry etc.
    I have 5.07 installed and the crossfading etc options work perfectly well.

    Also, no matter what anyone says Winamp is easily one of the best media (and in particular audio) players available, no question about it. Whether or not you like/prefer it is a different issue though...

    Thought it was already explained... the number next to the crossfade is how many of seconds of each track gets faded. So if they run into each other then obviously they are being faded for too long. By increasing the number all your doing is increases the fade time.

    Simple method
    higher = more fade
    lower = less fade

    Well i got that part but even when i put it 20 it the fade isnt long

    the songs blend together longer...u might not hear it depending on the types of song being played.

    i switched to music match after i had a crapload of problems with winamp

    i find that it works a bit better

    granted it takes up alot of memory, wheniver i am doing somthing else that takes alot of memeory. i jus tuse windows media player or vlc
