You can always install linux nest to windows on a different partition - very small change you will fuck up windows if you do this ( if you do you are a def n00b )

Download Mandrake Linux 9 in ISO format. Burn the 3 different ISOs directly on the 3 different CDs using Nero Burning ROM. Download Partition Magic 8. Create a partition and convert it to ex2 or ex3. Format the new partition. Restart and put the Mandrake Linux 9 CD 1 in. If you don't know anything about Linux, I would be very careful.
bah i like linux cause of the open source thing but i hate it when the distro says burn the cds reboot and we do everything for you and when you get to the end X wont start cause they didnt set it up right.
I personally would go with red hat 7 8 or 9 as red hat is the only one i have foud that holds true to this doing everything for you
