Is it possible to convert a device to a drive letter? For example, camera to G:\ and so on.

- Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
- Under Computer Management, click Disk Management. In the right pane, you’ll see your drives listed. CD-ROM drives / Camera are listed at the bottom of the pane.
- Right-click the drive or device you want to change, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
- Click Change, click Assign the following drive letter, click the drive letter you want to assign, and then click OK.

It does not show up. It's a device like camera that's plugged into the USB

Yes, I could access my camera but nothing shows up. The camera reads "Memory Card Error" and I'm trying recovery software. Unless you have a better idea to recovery photos.
You know maybe this won`t work for your digi cam.. Maybe you need to get updated software your cam..
maybe get a card reader. Sounds like your card is messed up. Having it connected like that, it acts as a drive. Changing the drive letter won't help in the recovery. The recovery software would have to support removeable drives.
I don't have a card reader and it's not likely I would.
