Am I correct in assuming, the more you upload the faster your speeds will be to download? Do they take into account that the majority of users upload capability is a fraction of what they could download with. For example 2MB dl and 256 ul.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. I can get top speeds on my downloads (512kB/s on a 4 meg connection) despite my crappy upload (48 kB/s on 376 upload). It's just important to seed back to a 1.0 ratio...

Trouble is, if you haven't got a good download speed then by the time you've dled something the seed/leech ratio can be so bad you have difficulty seeding back to a 1.0 ratio. If on top of that you are hit by waiting times... well, see Pisexy (took weeks to get to that level) and in particular Torrentbytes (you can't seed if there are no leeches) below.

There was a problem with the stats and they had to go to a backup. A few hours were lost, maybe the ones you quoted yesterday were about the time of the problems.

I think I may have lucked out then, 'cos the torrent I was sitting on had no leechers and I didn't have anything else to reseed.
