anyone ever hear of/use em?
i think i need to grab a new mobo
i have put mine through too much of my....ermm....mishaps
i've shorted wires while it was running and all kinds of dumb shit
think the onboard video is shot out (not that i need it but....)
anyway....budget is limited....so no way can i jump to my dream of the 939 yet
and lookin at the gigabyte/asus/abit/msi mobos in stock...
this one seems to offer a little more flexibility and features
and anything would probably be better than what i'm running
trust me, this would be an upgrade for me
my MSI is ooooold (133MHz FSB, 4x AGP, etc.)

and i dont know a lot about nVidia chipsets, so....
a little review on that would be nice

for an extra 15 bucks, but again, its an nVidia chipset, so i'm cluless

a couple of the others are fairly cheap,
but they dont say that theyll support lower speeds of RAM (DDR 400 is all it says)
and i cant afford the RAM upgrade atm

I have but one encounter with a DFI board and it was bad, but that is hardly statistically significant.
I have had multiple RMAs with MSI boards and would recommend avoiding them at any cost.

I assume you have a socketA chip...either Asus or Abit have been good to me with that setup.

A board that supports DDR400 will also support slower RAM modules...not to worry.

although my MSI has run fairly well (considering the shit i put it through)
now i can go back and have another look at the gigabytes, asus, abit, etc

I am struggling with the fact that the Neo is currently considered to be the finest a64 board around...I'd like to try it, but I absolutely despise MSI and cannot bring myself to give it a shot.

I think I'm going to try one of those Neo2 boards.

Clocker, I have the same issue with Abit boards. I cannot bring myself around to buy one of those as I have had one just quit on me after about 8 months service without reason.

Go with this one man, you wont regret it. This is probably the most famous Socket A board there is.

Was it 'cos of the caps? 'cos there's a good excuse for that.

I've seen caps pop on two old ones, but that can't happen anymore what with the whole industrial espionage thing sorted out.

The last, newer one used when I helped build my bro's pc has been running like a dream for quite some time now. In fact it's been handling more than I'd have thought it could.
