i think there was once a link to this film in the verifieds but the download on it was so slow it would of taken me months to get it.candyman I've been looking for Das Boot forever, i heard it was one of the best Submarine movies of all time....Can't find it though
i know it is available from amazon.co.uk so as soon as i can rake 20quid together i'll buy it and share it.
first time i saw das boot i was about 12, shows us a different side to the war
Bridge over Over The River Kwai for sure- great performance from Alec Guiness and the catchiest damn theme song of any movie ever!
"I am the one who knocks."- Heisenberg
GLoRy!
I second that, and Das Boot.Originally posted by gumbydancin@2 April 2003 - 22:20
My two favs would have to be Apocalypse Now (brilliant in every way) and A Thin Red Line (the cinematography is is extraordinary, and I can't remember his name, but that main guy did an excellent job in his role) B)
Those three are musts.
Harts War.. an Crimson Tide .. were good
Dont forget "All Quiet On The Western Front" The original
The re-make was ok.
One great film I forgot was Gallipoli.
A rare WWI film... depicts the retarded nature of certain battle stratagies.
Featuring a pre-star mel gibson... to bad you'll never find it on kazaa
