I just watched Black Hawk Down, and that was top shelf.
Being that our boys of the summer are raising hell in Iraq, seems like a good time to load up on good old fashion war movies. Now I have seen all of the classics Platoon, Full Medal Jacket, Saving Pvt Ryan... But what are the other good ones that are sometimes over looked? Was that Mell gibson one in Vietnam any good?

"Saving private Ryan" should be the king of all war movies, "K-19 Widowmaker" is also very intense, if "Forrest Gump" can also be classified as a war movie, then it would be my third

The Deer Hunter. Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, Meryl Streep in one of the best movies ever made. Only half of it is set in Vietnam but The whole of the film revolves around that theme. Just a brilliant film, see it if you haven't.
Also The Thin Red Line was pretty good, if a little slow moving.
