    When I was a lad, most playgrounds had concrete animals atop steel springs. You just kind of wobble about on top.

    Reading the lyrics, I think that is what they are talking about.

    That sort of spoiled this notion I had about huge lumbering concrete elephants and bears performing Swan Lake in secret.
