    Cool

I have some advice for you on how to get around the fake files.

Download a file and hit "find more from user" and if a list of files pop up, that person is probably not a faker. so just download from that one user and your file will not be corrupted by bits of fake files from fakers.

If you are downloading VERY fast (100kb/s) from one person, chances are they are a faker.

If you just do a general search and you see one person with more than one copy of a song (sometimes one person has over 10 versions of one song with varying track lengths and file sizes) then that person is a faker.

And turn your speakers down when you preview the file, there might be loud screeches midway thru the song.

If a user has more than one of the same file, then it is probably a fake file.

I think its an extension on sig2dat which includes a md5 hash of the file so each file should have a unique hash and not get corrupted.

Thats what i found. But i dont understand why there are still so many fakes. Shouldnt a good hash reduce the number of fakes?

not if people are getting paid to host thousands of fake, not corupt, files.

klite 2.7 beta 4 version comes with a very intersting new feature.
It's called fake analysis and it's purpose is to avoid downloading fake files.
It scans your search results for known fake file hosts and marks the search results as good (star) or bad (red bug).

Of course it's impossible to detect all fake files, but you will see that it already works with a high accuracy, the accuracy of this feature depends on a up-to-date BannedIPs list.
