    · Does ProtoWall work on win 98 or M.E.?

Hi, unfortunately ProtoWall is not compatible with Windows 9X and Windows M.E.
Here are a couple alternative ways you can feel safer:

    1. Get a personal firewall: preferably one that makes it easy to import blacklists generated by the BlockList Manager and that does not use a lot of system resources. This could be the right way to feel protected. The following is a list of firewalls that are compatible with the Blocklist Manager:

    - ZoneAlarm (take care, it is not so easy to import blacklists generated by the BLM and it will use a lot of system resources to the point where your system is close to unusable)

    - Outpost with Blockpost plugin installed (very good Agnitum software)

    - Sygate (a good alternative to Outpost)

    2. Another possible option that seems to be popular for those with Windows 9x or Windows ME is to run PeerGuardian and Norton Internet Security, which includes a firewall and intrusion detection. This configuration is better than nothing and is a bit less technical compared to sygate or outpost. Ultimately it is less secure because PeerGuardian only monitors the TCP/IP protocols (up to the pre-release 14) but with the combination of PeerGuardian and a firewall, most intrusions/hacks will be blocked.

Sorry. Maybe you should consider upgrading to XP or atleast 2000 (if you can run ME you can run 2000 fine).

Be cause they tell you they block badIPs ie MPAA & RIAA etc..
Do you really think that the MPAA & RIAA give out there IP's to these software creators so they can add them to there blocklists etc??

    Not likely...
Just cause theyre not making money from it doesnt mean its not a marketing scam...
Think of it as a promotion scam if you like
