    the add remove prgrams does not remove media player.
    it only removes access to media player.
    e.g removes the shortcut from the start menu etc.

    what is the point in removing windows media player?

    windows media player is a lousy player.........
    i always have bugs, or i doesn't read some codecs.....
    so it will be a good thing to remove it

    Exactly,use a better player like BSPlayer which is the best one I have used so far cuz it is easy,good and doesnīt take up so much memory like Media Player does

    this did not work for me im not sure why i properly did something wrong i pasted that run command into run and tried it and nothing any ideas?

    its a better idea to remove realplayer if u have it. spyware!

    Windows Media Player versions 7 and later have progressively MORE anti-copy measures put in, file monitoring (by Microsoft), security holes as bad or worse than the ones in Outlook and Internet Explorer (I had a fake 'MP3' file that was a vbs script virus -- WMP ran it despite being mis-named without even a WARNING&#33, and is just slow BLOATWARE.
