Because dsl as an advantage: it reaches rural zones and cable don't. People who want cable tv in rural zones just put a satellite. As least in my country works this way...Originally Posted by llylabrat

I have theoretically 512/128, and real: 422/103
I almost forgot: ADSL
lol running BT at school pwns royally, because they don't shut the comps/server at night, just get 10 torrents going and turn off the monitor, and the next morning they should be all done if you use a private tracker. Best thing about my school, the 20mps interweb connection.

I used to do that.
Log in as administrator so the files are kept on the C drive without going missing the enxt day as long as noone shuts the computer down, and then login with my own account the next day and copy to ipod to take home.
Did that once or twice but usually someone ended up stopping it.![]()
Hahaha @ rossco, that is smoooth! Definitely trying that next year. Yeh well I got ADSL a 1 meg down and a 512 up. I really got to move to Sweden![]()
yeah that is what I miss most about school, the problem is that I would download so much at once that my computer would crash. I can't wait for 12MB (not Mb) downloads (inercampus) and 5MB through torrents.
I really did miss my personal fiber line this summer I just wish that my school had enought bandwidth to max it out. we are only on a couple OC-3 pipes and OC-13 and internet2. however everyne else dose torrents so it is actually faster to do wifi (allocated bandwidth) , but I have been able to get high speeds when no one is on campus through the fiber. Also it is not a fiber backbone with ethernet from there one, I actually have a fiber optic line in my dorm room. After that 1.5/256 that I have a home is nothing.
