Strange that BitLord isn't on the list of clients for the poll
From what I've been reading here and there BitLord contains spyware, whereas BitComet doesn't. In any case, BitComet was first, BitLord is a rip-off that uses BitComet code and then adds their own links and whatnot.

Check screenshots on their site. It's the same app, except bloated and advertised everywhere.

Bitcomet is the best for now, and I used to use Azureus - but it started crashing on me ever since the new version - and getting 100% CPU usage.

get an antivirus.... something like kaspersky... a firewall and a ad clener won't hurt either
I personally use azureus cause it has tons of things in it

  13. BitTorrent   -   #173
    I use BitComet.
I have tried a great deal of other clients and I found that bitcomet works best for me

  14. BitTorrent   -   #174
I use bitcomet as well. Tried a bunch of clients but comet seems to be the nicest layout, easier use, and works consistently.

I just have to say that my favourite BT client is bitcomet (btw DC++ is my favourite directconnect client).

  16. BitTorrent   -   #176
I use Azureus, and wait for a little while before applying any upgrades until it generally looks stable.

i used to use torrentstorm but the upload limit just didn't work so i'd often find it uploading at the maximum possible 30KBps, meaning i couldn't download or use the internet for anything else as upload effects download on my adsl.

i now use azureus, the limits work better but even though i have a gig of RAM, azureus doesn't think there's enough room to run a game at the same time

bitcomet is easyer and better in my opinion.
u need just to set up the connections correctly. and get a good port and set your upload limit not too high, and you will get good speeds.
my connection 2MBiT (260kbps) and with torrents i get every time a minimum of 100kbps that means my downloads are fast... with azureus, i had problems, needed java, alot of ram and patience. bitcomet is the sweetest client ever!

    What ports are you using

What's wrong with azureus' latest version? I'm new to using these clients.

How do I use the advanced features of azureus? What are they? Other than changing the ports by adding "1" (based on the guide in this forum on how to speed up BT) there doesn't seem to be any advanced feature but then again I have no idea about these things usually

Yeah, be ashamed, rossco, be very ashamed.

I'm using Azureus, Bittornado has never worked properly on this machine.

Anyhow, I prefer azureus 'cos it gives me more control, it seems like, tho' it screwed up my OS once, on a very hot day when I had lots and lots of torrents running at the same time. NB overheat from all the transfers, I think.

    Azureus

I actually first started using bitcomet, but couldn't be " connectable" everywhere. I used the same port I'm using for Azureus now, so I give away a little ram for being connectable everywhere

    your welcome Ike

Azureus is a huge resource hog but it gets the job done and has an excellent interface.

  32. BitTorrent   -   #192
BitComet has some issues when Windows runs out of virtual memory other than that, it's perfect! Azureus is still too slow...

  33. BitTorrent   -   #193
I find that BitComet is the easiest and most user friendly, much better than those others

  34. BitTorrent   -   #194
Azereus, but it sure gobbles up the memory. Might try BitComet after reading this thread.

used bittornado a long time before switching to bitcomet, i still get the best speeds with bittornado, but the upload rate is much better in bitcomet, a big plus if you are a member on ratio based sites

Pitty the memory usage though... damn java

  38. BitTorrent   -   #198
I keep changing. For some reason a program will work great for a while and then stop accessing. Currently I'm using bitcomet.

  39. BitTorrent   -   #199
BitComet is soooo much faster than Azureus; I dont know why Azureus has so many votes; It sucks!!!!!!!

    I use the original BitTorrent.

Are there many differencies between the clients, spy/adware etc..?
