A SHN file is actually a compressed loseless audio, meaning the sound quality is exactly that of CD quality and can be converting from SHN to WAV and WAV to WAV without any quality loss. The ratio of SHN to WAV file size can vary depending on the WAV compressed, but it is generally .60-.70 A lot of concert traders use this file format to transfer shows over the internet, whether it be by FTP or even Bit Torrent.

There is a plugin for Winamp, called SHNamp, here: http://www.etree.org/shnamp.html

Don't worry about it being 3 years old, as the SHN file format hasn't changed in many many years.
