Being an owner of a mechanic shop I know where the guy is coming from. I have gotten burned more than once while letting someone leave with a car without payment to see them never show up again.

I recently had a guy write me a bad check for three thousand dollars. He wouldn’t return my calls and I didn’t hear from him for three weeks until luck would have it the car broke. I fixed it again and demanded cash or no car and since I knew he’d try to come get it at night I took all the tires off the car and looked them up. It took a couple of weeks but I got all my money.

Its hard when someone comes to pick up their vehicle and they tell you that they just don’t have the money and you have to tell them that you can’t let the vehicle leave. I am willing to work with customers that I’ve done business with before and promise me that they’ll bring me some money each week. The majority of the people are really nice and good about paying their bills but it only takes one asshole to ruin it for everyone. Try calling the shop back up and explaining the situation. Tell them to take the VIN number, the plate number, and you drivers license number.

I hope it all works out for you.

yes i see and know your desperation
and going to internet forums for money is a very advanced form
if it is as you say your livelyhood - then choose
100 dollars is all you need - then your bank should easily lend it yu have "stable" income" and you will pay it back within a week.
    sorry

Political correctness is based on the principle that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

i'd go this way. he might meet you at a compromise before you even reach court
