    hi im hoping to buy a new comp and am not very clued up. which is the best motherboard to have a ASUS A8NE-FM Mainboard - DDR400, GB LAN, IEEE 1394, SATA, PCIEX16 or a Gigabyte GAK8NS PRO any on any ideas also on hard drive a SATA or UDMA pse help

    Neither. I recommend you get a motherboard with Socket 939 instead, unless you already have the CPU...

    i dont have anything as yet but i want to get a full system and these were the two options i am looking at mesh and nethighstreet at min any other reccomendations? im in uk also thanx

    As VB said, socket 939. Also, the newer MBs will have the faster SATA connector (3.0Gb/s as oppose to 1.5Gb/s).

    ok i just had a go at config one it has: amd athlon 64bit 3500 (2.2ghz) 512kb L" cache (939 pin) CPU, 1024 MB DDR$)) PC3200 MEM, ASUS A8V Deluxe (939 pin) motherboard, SATA 160 gig Hard disk, and 256mb radeon 9600 pro 8x agp Graphics card amongst other things any one any opinion on this system is there anything particularly rubbish or could be better??

    I'd reccomend getting atleast a 9800 or even an nvidia 6600GT (200$ ) , if you have the extra money , because 9600 will become out of date real soon.

    That would depend on if the computer is for gaming or not.


    You could save yourself quite a bit of money if you choose the 3000+ or 3200+ (939 pin) 90nm.

    I have the MSI K8T Neo2-FIR and I'm very happy with it.

    Do you have a link to the site? Some here might see some changes to make, and would get a price idea. Its almost as much fun giving advice as buying the setup. Someone like me who whats too but can't afford yet.

    it is pcspecialist.co.uk im not bothered about speakers keyboard screen etc just the tower system
