The whole reason I had inquired about the Liteon brand, was because of a brief conversation I had with a computer technician over the phone a few weeks ago. I recently had an ASUS cd-rom drive go bad on me after upgrading the firmware. I called this person to ask exactly "how can alittle software tidbit cripple this device?" and "is there anything I can do to fix it?".
His first response to my questions was asking me if it was a "Liteon" brand drive. I did not think anything of the reply until I had seen the brand in the store. It seemed a decent retail and to the best of my knowledge, quite an upgrade compared to what I currently have.
