Thread: Cant Detect HHD/DVD/CDRom

  1. #1
    Hi,

i have just put tgether a pc. I am pretty sure this is something simple but wanted to check before i spent hours trying to find it!

When i boot up the pc, bios doesnt detect the hdd (plugged on its own into ide1) or the vd or vdrom drives (ide2)

Is it likely to be something simple like the jumper settings? I though of this but the hdd is the only thing plugged into ide1...?

    any help would be appreciated

What parts are involved? Please provide makes and models.

The jumper on the HDD should be set for Master or Single drive.

The CD/DVD drives should be set one as master and the other as slave (if there are 2 drives.)
