    Okay I burn to mpeg-2 using tmpgenc and it plays fine on my computer from the disk and the mpeg-2 plays fine itself but when I play it on my DVD play the audio jumps and freezes for a second this happens about every 2 minutes throug the movie what could it be?? and what read and write speed does everone reccomend could it be that?

    have u keep to the same format(pal.ntsc etc) and framerate as the original..if not that can cause jerkiness and jumpin on a standalone

    i burn evry thing at 8x or 16x and neveroverburn..

    that could possibly be it I did it in ntsc instead of PAL however the movies I download also have the same problem How can u tell if their NTSC or PAL? I thought most of them would be NTSC

    You can check the framerate using VirtualDub, File>File Information
