Maybe you should try other firmware for the Linksys before spending more money.

Hey VB , i noticed that one of the pins inside my cable modem (its there the ethernet cords hooks up with the modem) was missing. Im wondering if this is the main cause in why my computer was disconnecting, rather than my linksys router ?

woowoo
that could be causing a bad connection.
try plugging your computer directly up to the modem for a while and see what happens.
