I've always had trouble getting rid of XP from computers but here's my 2 cents.
If you put the 98 CD and just try to install it might just delete you'll whole harddrive and install. That would be the easy way. If that doesn't work you can try this.
Take a boot disk, say for 98 and boot up with that in the drive. When the disk prompt comes up run fdisk, just type fdisk in, and delete the partition that XP is isntalled on. That will get rid of everything. When you install 98 it should create the new partition for you and install normally.
I think, by the way you phrased the question, that you want to have both Operating Systems
installed, correct?
If so, you're attempting a 'dual-boot' system. You'll need to create a FAT32 partition (you can use something like
Partiotion Magic to split an existing partition) where you will install 98.
Google Search for some tutorials and step-by-steps, here's one to start you off
Dual-Boot Your PC.
goodluck
Oh i must have read your quesiton wrong, what Sparsely says sounds right.
