My internet settings have been hijacked by "About:blank" and I can't connect to the internet anymore. I did a spysweeper sweep and it found the program as adware and spyware and removed it. The thing is though, that every time I do the sweep again , the program is still in my computer hijacking my settings.
Any help? Right now I'm connected from another computer.

the operating system might be locking in whatever is causing the trouble, try restarting in safe mode and scanning

hmm, thats a new one....about:blank...I always thought that it was a choice you had for your startpage under internet options what does it say when you type a url into your browser? if it says "page cannot be displayed", then you have a different problem. Check the security tab under internet options just be safe, and make sure that a trojan hasnt lowered your settings. if unsure, click the default settings button. other than that, it sounds rediculous. (but i have been wrong before)

install microsoft beta spyware, and anytime you go to a website, and something asks to add something to your host file, let us know and well go from there.

woowoo
Go into safe mode first of all.
Now go to start>run>type 'msconfig'>click the 'startup' tab and remove any entries that look like spyware, or that you dont know what it is.
Apply those settings.
Now run your scan program and remove anything it finds. Also do virus scan and trojan scan for good measures.
Finally run HiJackThis! and save the log. Browse to this website and paste the log in, then click analyze.
In HiJackThis! hilight anything that the website marked as a "nasty" and then hit "Fix Selected."
Now you can restart and the spyware should hopefully be gone.
