camera recognition..under xp

I've been lent a camera but when I plug it in the usb port of my computer, I've got the yellow buble poping up saying there's new hardware & telling me the name of the camera, but nothing in the "my computer" folder. I 'm under XP pro.

Why is that?

right click my computer>manage>device manager
you might find the camera in the list somewhere with a ! or a ? next to it. if you do reight click it and go to update drivers and let it try to find some. if it doesn't then you may have to download some (although i thought xp had drivers for everything...).

What make of camera ? Some have free software to download . Kodak comes to mind, easy share or something .
