Firefox extension help!!!!

ohhhhh, those poor kids, no telling what they have seen
yes, in your case, it's no doubt prudent to bury them deep in a maze of sub directories,
maybe even a hidden partition

Put "about:config" into the address bar.

Then put "browser.download.useDownloadDir" into the filter box.

Double click on the entry and it should change to false.

Edit: If you always want them saved somewhere else rather than the desktop you could put "browser.download.dir" into the filter box and then double click the entry to enter your own download folder.

That didn't work mate.

The box is checked where it says "Asks me where to save", but its still saving files on desktop.
