    Hi,

Is there a Extension for Firefox, where i can select where i want to save downloaded files, images, etc....rather then saving them on the desktop?

Re-install Firefox, or check your Adminstrator settings.

I just did a installation...and I'm the Adminstrator, there are no other user accounts.

Put "about:config" into the address bar.

Then put "browser.download.useDownloadDir" into the filter box.

Double click on the entry and it should change to false.

Edit: If you always want them saved somewhere else rather than the desktop you could put "browser.download.dir" into the filter box and then double click the entry to enter your own download folder.

This must be a problem with the newest FF update . Two posts about it this weekend . I had the same problem , it kept picking my desktop, then some how made a new folder called My downloads. I had too show file to correct it. I had made a download folder ages ago.
