Over on the MSI website, I saw something saying that nForce3/4 does not work on Windows 98/ME and that got me thinking... Has anyone even tried installing 98 on an A64? Or even a Pentium 4 for that matter? It seems like no one would have any good reason to try, but I was curious.

Well my comp sux, so no, but i can understand why.

XP is more demanding than 98, so i guess things mite load faster.

But if you have an A64 then i doubt it would matter.

Widnows 98 works fine with Pentium 4s and Athlonx XP's.
No idea about 64's but i'm sure it works too, but there won't be any drivers for the nforce 3/4 like the MSI site said.

    I realize it's a driver limitation, but I'm sure 98 will install.

What he means is there are fewer reasons they would want to.

Using his own logic, he should be running 3.1

Your computer teacher is crazy. NT based machines are WAY more secure than 9x.

Why get an Athlon 64 if you arent going to be using it to its full potential available?
