I think a 100% crystal clear glass road would look kinda interesting.

simply layout a well varnished "parkett" wooden road.

I am indeed into wood, though mostly not the one you refer to......
It was simply the cheapest solution...........
I like the glass road idea!!!
And too be honest; i really hate parkett........ :crying:
A friend suggested to dig a canal, and buy a small ferry to get us across......
