Place the hand you write within the puppet's head. Your fingers, hidden by the cloth mouth, go in the head and your thumb goes into the puppet's jaw.
Now, with the eyes of the puppet looking at your audience, move the puppets mouth up and down. Suddenly the shyest most reserved person becomes a puppeteer
