    What is byfar the best defragmenting program?

    Diskeeper is my favorite.
    O&O is also a good one but i find diskeeper does what i need.

    I use diskeeper 9. Just set and forget about, it does what it says on the tin.

    as it all comes down to personal preference
    i myself like perfectdisk, but rossco posted some good ones too
    i just dont like the ones he posted

    i've tried Diskeeper, but it scares me with its thrashing, that was an old version though, not sure if it still does it.

    But right now i'm using O&O, it seems pretty much the same as Perfectdisk, but with some nice CPU priority functions

    Diskeeper Pro Version: 9.0.524.0 , is my chioce but had trouble with some sp2 service packs. I stay away from 9.0.333.0 it's to slowwww.

    No problem ! I think I'v tryed just about every flavour of Defrag. I'm funny that way, must be because of the old win98 B.S. Your right tho, the set and forget is great. The boot defrag and set up MTF/ paging file is nice too.
