good book, but one bit confuses me. well, the whole thing is a bit dabs but...

Spoiler: Showwhen he finds the floating island thing, he ties the boat to an oar used as an anchor. when he leaves he says he chops up the weed the rope was tied to, then the next morning it had desolved the rope... why did it wait to disolve the rope?

Dave, I think that the rope disolves gradually, the water was acidic so it wouldn't happen straight away. Musta took all night
