You can still order it though, just follow the link.

Edit: Well, at least you could last week, now it's at "stock overdue", but there might be some left they can get hold of.

That is an Athlon Barton core yes, personally i liked the 2500Xp's better than the faster ones (3000+ & 3200+) just because they were cheaper and you could overclock them to about the same speed anyway. But yes that is the CPU you are after, have you checked it will fit into your mobo though

I agree with the Athlon XP 2500+ being a better choice. Most will run just like the 3200+ when set to the same speed. The only problem is to find them.

You can also look at the retail version of the CPU. It comes with a cooler and has a better warranty.

I looked into getting another 2500XP a while ago but couldnt even find any Athlons, mind you i didn't really look that hard. I doubt he will find a retail or a 2500XP without some serious hunting. Ebay might be a good idea if you trying buying pc parts, as would a pc store that deals with second hand/refurb pc's.

Have you looked at the Sempron 3000+ for Socket A?

Unlike the other Semprons it has 512K L2 cache so it isn't "crippled". Comparing specifications I can't tell any difference between this and the Athlon XP. The speed is only the same as an XP2800+ as far as I can remember, but that's not a problem as long as you know what you are getting.
