as far as I know it doesnt use the PRO version. (check the Quicktime Settings -> about Quicktime)

there is no "pro" version, you just need to register the basic version to turn it into "pro"

the "pro upgrade" enables a specific set of features in Quicktime (like export/convert to other formats) which are disabled in the basic QT install.

I know there are PRO versions in the Codec Pack . I dont know if it's legal to create something like Quicktime Alternative.
