Well, my PC runs 24/7 so 16 hrs of battery life is not an issue for me.

    Speed.
all accesses occur in nanoseconds, not milliseconds and is thus much faster at random accesses than regular hard drives.
You don't really need 10 GBs for the OS.

Oh, so this memory is just for the OS? How would that increase performance?

For one thing, the bootup time would be so fast. Less than 2 seconds.

I can't see the point of the opening line that says the card is just an add-on for Gigabyte motherboards. In fact it even says that no additional drivers are necessary.

But the limiting factor is the SATA interface, so access would not be as fast as you might think.

Step 1....Install RAM drive card w/ 1GB installed

Step2...create custom XP install using nLite (my first attempt yeilded a 950MB XP Pro, I'll be more ruthless next time...bye-bye WMP!

Step3...install stripped OS onto RAM drive

Step4...create Ghost image of OS and store on real HDD

    Step5... pwnage and mass adulation

    Better with more than 1GB.

Unfortunately, expected shipping date won't be until the third quarter
