Thread: what is a sub file ?

    I downloaded a 1.38 GB xvid movie... It came with a "sub" file. What his this, and how exactly do i use it ?

    Basically it's a text file that contains the subtitling for the movie.
    Place it in the same folder and your media player should pick it up on its own and display the subtitling.

    edit: erm. Maybe not all players use them automatically. What proagram do you use?

    i use media player classic.

    Well, you may have to point it to the .sub file. There's a subtitles option under "play".

    I went to >Play>Load Subtitle , and then it says i have to change my video renderer, do you know how i do this ?

    View > Options > Output.

    Dunno which one to use though.

    Load ur File With QuickTime Alternative and if the Subfile dosnt load Auto them goto file>Load Subtitle\.
    easier way Download VideoLan and Evrything will be automatic.
