The 6600's are PCI-express chips with a converter to allow them to run on AGP. I see no reason why they can't do the same with the 7000 series, except that the AGP bus may not be regarded as fast enough.Originally Posted by SnnY

That would be the reason that was referred to as making it pointless, but on the other hand, like I've said elsewhere, the agp version of the 6600GT, clocked at the exact same speeds as the pci-e version, performs better, so clearly the bus-speeds are enough for that series of cards. i have a radoen 700 that was $350 Australian Dollars which would be about $200 US
it really depends on the games wether to go with Nivida or ATI
An e-friend told me that I could blag a game into thinking that my card was compatible by using this piece of software http://www.3dcenter.de/downloads/3d-analyze.php I can't work out out to use it as the site is in GermanHave I been misinformed or is this app worth investigating further?
