Hmmm....
Ya know, the longer I work with computers, the leerier I get about storing massive amounts of data on them.
With DVD burners approaching floppy prices I would much prefer to burn data to disk rather than risk holding it in the PC.
We've had a particularly vicious cycle of thunder/lightning storms here in Denver the past few months and a definite rise in stone cold dead PCs as a result.
An awful lot of stored data has gone to Bit Heaven as a result and lots of folks are heartbroken.
Furthermore, most PCs with high capacity drives that I see are basically empty...people think bigger is better, but really have no use for the space.
Since I've been screwing around with my cooling setup so frequently, I have only been running my baby Raptor and of the 36GB available I'm only using 6.5 GB.
When the Gigabyte RAM drive card becomes available ( soon! Please Jeebus, soon!) that will be my OS drive and the Raptor can be storage.
Total HDD space...41GB.
More than enough for me (way fast also) and more than enough for most users too, I'll wager.
But they'll sell the big drives like crazy anyway, I'm sure.

oh, they're all gone now. the store switched the page yesterday afternoon to "Call for Availability" and now the item's page wont even load. watch out for this item again soon, though as i believe its a special deal outpost is having on them. if they're moving that many, that fast, then i'm sure they'll restock soon.Originally Posted by bigdawgfoxx
