can you actually find any reason for it to be removed?

i just see a knee-jerk reaction from people trained to find it offensive and can't see through the forced on red mist to put it in context.

i'm not even gonna argue with you. i find it offensive, though you seem to think it's fine to the extent of now using it in your own sig. each to their own. this is why i didn't report it as making this thread would give others the chance to agree or disagree with my feelings.

The swastika is an extremely powerful symbol. Though the Nazis used it to murder millions of people , for centuries it had positive meanings. What is the history of the swastika? Does it now represent good or evil?

Hitler and the Nazis

In 1920, Adolf Hitler decided that the Nazi Party needed its own insignia and flag. For Hitler, the new flag had to be "a symbol of our own struggle" as well as "highly effective as a poster." (Mein Kampf, pg. 495)

On August 7, 1920, at the Salzburg Congress, this flag became the official emblem of the Nazi Party.

Other individuals and groups were persecuted and suffered grievously during this period, but only the Jews were marked for complete and utter extinction. The word Shoah, originally a Biblical term meaning widespread disaster, is the modern Hebrew equivalent.
