All I know is nearly everyone in the US Army (marines, army, navy, air force) are exposed to radiation on the battle fields most of the time. They leave with problems caused by their own weapons. That's insanity...but war must go on? heh, well I would say make peace before your allys cause casualtys upon themselves.
It's stupid to not help each other, when things go much faster done together. Same goes for the racist wars. If they naturally excepted each other, things would progress much faster.

I was drafted, but did civil duties instead...
On hindsight I certainly would have gotten more out of the army (and I'm talking more than just the physical aspect), though of course I had my reasons for choosing civil duty (my convictions beeing one...).
