okie dokie, got me a repair sitting on my desk, all put together...
no PSU (forgot that I gave my last ATX PSU away)

what I do have is an old 230W ATX-e PSU
good enoough to get a mobo/CPU/RAM test fired, but..
it has no 4 pin ATX (?) connector (the 4 pin square fkr)

can one of the other connectors be modded into the 4 pin mobo lead?
or is there some kind of circuitry in the PSU that will prevent this?
all it's doing is providing extra power to the mobo, right?

it would be much simpler to splice a few wires and put a new connector on
than to have to drive back into town and buy a PSU

Splicing the proper connector on would work fine.
