And you can use try EAC to remove this virus from the audio CD.

the software ran by autorun... couldn't stop it... plus i never even knew it had a software on it. thought it was a simple cd with the tracks thats it.

I had a problem recently trying to copy software that was 'protected'. I eventually got round it by dragging and dropping each individual file from the CD.

I have heard, but I dont know if it is reliable, if you draw a black marker along the edge of the CD it eliminates the protection. Find that hard to believe though.

People tell ya that so u screw up ur disk..

Just disable autorun and if that doesnt work get a program that bypasses the protections like anyDVD (works for CDs and DVDs)
