NERO 6 has a very simple aplication that does exactly that,
as I said, its very simple and easy, and also in NERO, is a remastering app,
I did it with a song my dad had on 'kct', you know, one of those songs
you just won'tfind on the web.

i use my iriver h320. hook up the tape player to the line in, and record to mp3 in real time at any bitrate i like. god i love my iriver h320
well, if you want absolutely free, Audacity can do it
(it's pretty nice for a freeware)
not-so-free:
Nero
Polderbits Sound Recorder (I've used this for analog recording before, very nice)
Adobe Audition (kinda bloated for just recording a tape or two)
or you can google "wav recorder" to get some more ideas,
but I'm not sure how many freewares are out there
what quality of sound do you get when transfered?
you can actually get a fairly decent rip of a cassetteOriginally Posted by clearlight
the good apps for recording from analog have options to remove tape hiss, pops, etc
and you can play around with the dB settings too
all in all I was fairly impressed with the quality
but a decent tape deck doesn't hurt though
one with at least Dolby B and/or C noise reduction
