Hey guys, yet another big guide from me, and this time a guide for cell-phones (free downloads of stuff that usually costs money, free SMS etc.).

May I please note that the stuff in this guide may be illegal (theoretically), and that I am in no way responsible for the damage of your cell-phone as a result of doing ANYTHING in this guide.

    Right, lets start:

Beofre the first stage, a link for cell-phone beignners (you'll be needing a phone for all this won't you..?): http://gsmarena.com (thanks zacspeed )

First, I think many of you would like a cool ringtone for your phone, or backgrounds/screensavers.. right?
    The problem - costs money.............

Solution: using websites to record/download/save polyphonic ringtones/mono ringtones for free, and then transferring them to the cell phone via USB/Infrared or via the WAP connection on your phone.

OK, here is one method of getting free ringtones:

    METHOD 1:
Go into the website of your service provider (Orange, Vodafone etc.). If they have a service that lets you listen to their ringtones, you can use this tip. If not - sorry.. skip to the next method.

OK, go into the ringtone you fanct, and make sure you listen to it until it finishes. Now, click on Tools, then Internet Options, in there click on Settings, and then View Files.
In there scroll right to the very bottom of the page, and find a file which is a music file (.MIDI), click copy, and paste to the desktop.
Now transfer it to your cell=phone via USB/Infrared, and there you go - a free ringtone!

    METHOD 2:
Go into this website: www.zedge.no . Sign up (it's free), and the rest is pretty self explanatory (find a ringtone, send it to your downloads, and download it via the WAP connection on your cell phone).

Another website that works the same: www.coolservice.dk (language can be changed).

    METHOD 3:
Search in Google for "free ringtones" or something like that which is to do with cell-phones. Google will find you loads of websites that work free for you.

    METHOD 4:
    Get eMule.
In the search bar, make sure the option is on Any (so it will search for all sorts of files).
Now, type in the search bar the exact name of your phone (in my case for instance it would be "LG U8120i").

eMule will find you stuff which will work on your cell phone (transfer using USB/Infrared).

    Free SMS:

One way of sending free SMS to cell phones is by using ICQ (well, I know it works in Israel, not sure about anywhere else ).

Another way: Sometimes, your service provider may give you the option to do so over their website for a minor payment or even for free - it's worth checking out.

    ICQ/MSN Messenger on your cell-phone:

Yes, it is possible to sign in to your MSN account or ICQ account via your cell-phones internet.
Surf to this WAP website: http://wap.tjat.com
There you can sign in to your account from anywhere, anytime!!!!!

Last but not least... A guide that will teach you how to build a WAP wesite:

Just like the pros... here you go, a list of websites that will help you build a WAP website:

    http://www.weberdev.com/ViewArticle-63.html

    http://www.w3schools.com/wap/default.asp

http://tutorials.freeskills.com/inde...ry/79/name/WAP (offers many tutorials for WAP building and learning what it is and how it is used).

    Enjoy!!!

I dont really see anything illegal here.
There's no law againt you Temp Internet files, is it?

    Anyhoo, thanks for guide.
Might come handy someday, espacially yhte eMule trick.

Personally, I make me own ringtones, its not really that hard if one knows
a little music theory and is not completely tonedeaf.

    you're welcome..

theoretically though you're nicking the ringtones from the websites... oh well, who gives a toss anyway? lol

i had a program that converts songs to MIDI format (ringtone format), can't remember the name of it..... the only minus in it was that the quality was crap....

Possibly worth adding http://www.gsmarena.com to your guide as well - after all, you'll need a phone first.
