When burning imgs for dvd movies, and isos for that matter, do you finalize the discs?

I've got them working both finalized and not finalized, but what's the praxis?

(Why do they work when they aren't finalized, btw, I'd have thought they wouldn't?)

When burning linux distros you have to finalize them, but that doesn't appear to be the same here.

(I asked in another thread, but then I figured I really wanted to know, so I'm making a new thread of it)

Some older DVD players have problems with discs that havn't been finalized. But i've never really had any problems. If it's a DVDr movie it's a good idea to do it because your never gonna add anything to that disc but if it's a data Disc with images, or games or something on it i don't becuse it means you can add more files later on. I have a DVD disc that i add cracks to. So i have like 1.3gb of cracks for every game that comes out and i just add a new one when each new game comes out.
