Thread: CD/DVD drives dissapeared

    (keep in mind I don't know much about computers)

    WTF

    I turn on my pc today and find that my cd/dvd drives are gone.

    I had this happen twice with my DVD Drive..never found out why......but,
    I fixed it by shutting down & unplugging the DVD Drive & plugging it back in again....
    rebooted & it was there.

    Sometimes deleting in device manager and rebooting works too.

    Have you got a different ribbon cable you could use try swapping that if you have a spare
