I want it simply for games
As I understand, the keys use OLEDs(organic light emitting diode) to display images.
And, you will be able to put any image you want on them.
The inherit problem is that OLEDs of that size [and used in that manor] are relatively new.
Definitely don't want to be a first generation user.
Very cool though, I hope it starts a trend in keyboards.

Having read the patent description I'd say that the patent holder has tried to be a little too clever. As someone on that site has said, the patented design specifically has statically identified CTRL, ALT and SHIFT keys.
