I know it sounds like a stupid question but i am on about if i need to convert the file type or anything like, as opposed to which burning software to use...you could suggest that anyway tho.

Yes, a DVD-RW is just a DVD-R disc that can be written onto more than once, some DVD plays have issues reading them though.
